Currently Recruiting new Foster Carers

Generous weekly financial allowance, 24 hour support, 6 week retainer following the end of a placement and 2 weeks paid holiday per year. These are just a few of the benefits of fostering with Child Action Northwest.

As part of Child Action Northwest's rebrand, we are commissioning a range of new images that reflect and promote the work we do and the people we support. These images will be used online and in print.
Child Action Northwest works in the heart of communities and we're looking for people to help act out and illustrate the issues and scenarios we come across everyday.
We’re looking for people of all ages, abilities and ethnicities, males and females, singles and couples, children, young people with a street/urban, to take part in a photo-shoot at Child Action Northwest (Whalley Rd, Blackburn, BB1 9LL) on Saturday 1st and/or Sunday 2nd March. Shooting will take place from 10am – 4pm, am/pm and full day sessions are available.
We’re also keen to hear from Lancashire-based models and actors who are available on this date and could take part in the shoot.
The photography will be produced by professional photographer Nick Eagle and each person will receive digital and print copies of their images after the shoot. Every participant with also receive a £20 gift voucher!
On the day fun and games will be provided for all ages between shoots, along with food and drink throught the day.

The photographs will depict an image of real people in real situations. We are looking for people who are comfortable portraying different moods and feelings ranging from happiness, to anger, to sadness and to relief and resolution. We are looking for a range of different people of different ages, genders and ethnicities who would be willing to pose for a selection of the following types of scenarios:
  • Happy/Broken Families
  • Troubled teenagers
  • Adults/young people seeking help
  • Foster parents
  • Volunteering/Mentoring
  • Reparation
  • Teen pregnancy
  • Young carers
  • Activities
  • Counselling
  • Adults/young people achieving
  • Rehabilitation
Nick Eagle's photographic style presents the subject as a real person in a real environment. Please wear your everyday casual clothes and natural make-up.

Welcome to Child Action Northwest

“Inspiring lives and changing futures”

It’s what we’ve been doing since 1886, in one form or another!

We passionately believe that every child and young person has the right to achieve their full potential, whatever their background or circumstances - and, as a result, we work with over 6000 children, young people and families in the North West of England every year.

We work in the heart of communities – often in partnership with other organisations - to end family cycles of deprivation, drug and alcohol abuse, lack of self-esteem, youth crime, teenage pregnancies and broken families.

As a result, we help to strengthen individuals, families and communities so that children and young people can lead healthy and meaningful lives, with the opportunity to succeed in school, to grow up to enjoy healthy relationships, to have access to training and employment opportunities and to be successful in the world of work.
